His many other works included “Art and Social Nature” (1946), “The Structure of Literature’ (1954), “The Community of Scholars” (1962), “Province: The Moral Ambiguity of America “ (1967) and “Adam and His Works: Collected Stories” (1968). A strong advocate of the student movement during the 1960s, he wrote his tenth book of social criticism “Reformation” in 1970. He also was a co-founder of the Gestalt therapy, which is an existential experiential form of psychotherapy. He died of a heart attack at age 60.
