BROKEN BOW - Clarence E. Marsh, 86, of Broken Bow died Saturday at a Broken Bow care home. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow. The Revs. Irvin Stanke and James Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be in Broken Bow Cemetery.
Mr. Marsh was born May 27, 1897, at Georgetown, south of Broken Bow. He was the son of George and Hattie Tideman Marsh. He grew up on the family farm and received his education at Round Hill School. On Dec. 25, 1917, he married Anna M. Knox at her parents' home in Sumner. They moved to a farm 3 1/2 miles northeast of the Buckeye store in rural Custer County, farming there until 1967.
They moved to town in 1981 and lived at Melham Apartments. He was a member of the Christian Church and had served on the Fairview school board for 36 years.
Survivors include his widow; a son, Rex of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Essie Ibach of Broken Bow and Lottie Coen of Shoals, Ind.; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include a son-in-law, Merle Fricke of Mesa,
Ariz. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Velma; a brother, Harvey, and a sister, Alta.
