Unity West was married to Col. William Dandridge on March 18, 1719.

Martha Washington, wife of Gen. George Washington, her mother was Frances Jones, her grandfather was Gideon Macon Jones. Upon Gideon Macon's death in 1702, his widow, Martha Woodward Macon, married Captain Nathaniel West who was also a representative in the House of Burgesses. Captain Nathaniel West and Martha Woodward had two children, and their daughter, Unity West, married Frances Jones' brother-in-law, William Dandridge.

Unity West Dandridge was the mother of Nathaniel West Dandridge, Sr the father of Dorothea Spotswood Dandridge; second wife of Patrick Henry
