There are many short blurps about Andrew Teague and the town of Redwood City. He and his wife appear on a marriage certificate dated September 12, 1841 in Cass, Missouri. The next bit of information available for them is the 1870 and 1880 census.
Andrew Teague - Plot 75
Born in Boone County, Missouri in 1822, Andrew Teague came to California in 1850. He spent two years in the gold mines and then returned to Missouri for his family. He and his wife, Permelia Morgan, brought four children to Woodside, where Teague made his living as a lumberman. Two more children were born here.
Teague was very active in community affairs. He was elected a supervisor from the Third Township when this area was still a part of San Francisco County. He was also a justice of the peace. He had a part in building the first road between Woodside and Redwood City, and was a member of San Mateo County's first library association. He was also a charter member of both the IOOF and the Masonic Lodge.
In 1862, the Teague family moved to Redwood City. Andrew was elected the first assessor of Redwood City when it incorporated in 1867, and later he was a town trustee. In 1869, he was elected District Attorney of San Mateo County.
Teague died at his Redwood City home in 1884. He rests next to his wife and only son, William Carlton Teague, who died in 1874. Andrew Teague's daughter Martha married Ott Durham and is buried next to her husband in the Durham plot nearby.
