Herman A Muenster, 80, of 2120 Wisconsin Ave., New Holstein, died Friday at 10:15 p.m. at the Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, following a month's illness.
He was born in the Town of New Holstein on April 22, 1879, the son of Adolph and Ina Arens Muenster. He attended the Seaton School and the University of Wisconsin. Most of his life he was in the garage business. He was married to Emma Schroeder on March 15, 1902, at the Schroeder homestead in the Town of New Holstein. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 172, F & AM and St John United Church of Christ. He was an alderman of the church at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Otto of New Holstein, and Waldemar, a staff sergeant in the Army stationed in Okinawa; two daughters, Mrs. Maybelle Schueler and Mrs. D. W. (Malanie) Trempe, both of New Holstein; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at the Erbe Hoffman Funeral Home, New Holstein, by the Rev. Charles Koch, pastor of St. John's, and Masonic rites will also be held. Burial will be in the New Holstein cemetery.
