~ Linda Heater Obituary ~
Linda Ellen Heater, 57, of Carrols died July 31, 2009, at home.
She was born Aug. 19, 1951, in Aberdeen, to Lucille and Paul (Bowers) Aronson. She attended Renton High School, Lower Columbia College and Evergreen State College, earning a nursing degree.
Linda worked for the Washington State Patrol, Washington Department of Transportation and as a nurse and nursing home administrator. She also served in the Army Reserves. Linda was a member of the National Nursing Association, the Chinook Indian Nation and volunteered through Immaculate Heart of Mary. She enjoyed cooking, RV camping with family and friends, and organizing family gatherings and reunions. Linda lived to care for others, always putting her needs last. She believed in the importance and solidarity of family. With a rare, dry sense of humor and an infectious laugh, she was the center of our best memories. Linda was passionate about the protection and dignity of the elderly, caring deeply for those who could not speak for themselves. Unafraid to speak her mind, her honesty and generous heart will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband, Richard R. Heater at home; a son, Jameson Fusco of Kelso; her mother, Lucille Ellen Aronson of Kelso; six siblings, Paula L. (Ed) Dey of Bow, Wash., Eric L. Aronson of Kelso, Patrick E. (Paula) Aronson of Auburn, Wash., Rebecca B. (John) McKenna of Beulah, N.D., Richard C. (Kathy) Aronson of Vancouver and Laura Jo (Kevin) Hanna of Safford, Ariz.; two stepsons, Ben (Maggie) Heater and Lucas (Hadley) Heater, both of Burien, Wash.; three grandchildren, Allison L. Fusco and Aaron J. Fusco, both of Castle Rock and Henry Heater of Burien; and a special cousin, Lauren (Guy) Barrett of Shelton, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gustave Paul Aronson; and a sister, Kathleen C. Aronson.
A funeral Mass will be held at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 2200 Allen Street in Kelso with Father Mel V. Strazicich officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
Arrangements are by Columbia Funeral Service.
