Jackson Parker Schneider, 8, of Plainview, died peacefully in his mother's arms, surrounded by his dad and two sisters, on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, after a three-year battle with neuroblastoma.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview, with Father Thien Nguyen officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Plainview.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Plainview, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
Born Nov. 6, 2000, in Rochester, Jackson Parker Schneider was a boy of eight years old who lived his life to the fullest. He saw and traveled more places than most adults do in a lifetime. He loved people with his whole heart and was never shy about dishing out hugs to people. He touched people's hearts even if he only knew them for a short time. He loved playing Lego Star Wars and putting Legos together. He also looked forward to Sundays at Grandma Kate's and playing with all of his cousins.
Jackson would have been a third grader at Plainview-Elgin-Millville Elementary School.
He is survived by his parents, Tim and MariClair Schneider of Plainview; his sisters, Hilary and Hannah in Plainview; paternal grandparents, John Paul and Kathy Schneider of Plainview; maternal grandparents, James and Cindy Severson of Plainview; paternal great-grandmother, Phyllis Klees of Wabasha; maternal great-grandparents, Monica Severson of Austin, and Wilton and Ethel Bunke of Rushford; aunts and uncles, Stacie (Scott) Schmaltz of Lewiston, Levi (Jenny) Severson of Boulder, Colo., Wendy (George) Czapiewski of Plainview, Teah (Mark) Beland of Owatonna, Nick (Brooke) Schneider of Rochester, and Zach Severson and Brenda Cacciola of New York City. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Bob Klees, and Fran and Bud Schneider; and his maternal great-grandfather, Francis Severson.
Schad & Zabel Funeral Home, 57 3rd St. S.W., in Plainview is in charge of the arrangements.
