5-Day Illness Fatal to Italian Leader

Mrs. Pia E. Glorioso, 85, prominent in Lorain Italian circles since 1907, died in the home of her son, Samuel Glorioso, 1018 10th St, following a five day illness.

She was born in Cefalu, Sicily in 1855 and graduated from the Royal University of Palermo in 1876 with a degree of Doctor of Obstetrics.

Mrs. Glorioso was a member of St. Peter's church and was affilated with the Congregation of Divine Providence. Her husband, Salvatore, died in 1925.

Survivors include three sons, John, Charles, and Samuel, two daughters, Mrs. Lorenzo Montalto and Mrs. Salvatore Novello, all of Lorain; 27 grandchildren, among whom are three doctors, Dr. John A. Glorioso, Lima, Dr. Augustine J. Novello, Ashtabulia and Dr. Sam J. Novello, Lima; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 8:30 p.m. Friday and at St. Peter's church with a Solemn Reqieum Mass at 9 a.m..
Rev. A. Ciampichini, pastor, will be celebrant, assisted by two other priests. Burial will be in the family mausoleum in Calvary cemetery under the direction of the Reidy-Scanlan Co..
