Journalist, Television Host. Known by many as a strong defender of the French language in Quebec, Fauteux began his television career in 1956 as a journalist for Radio-Canada. On January 2, 1960, he was the journalist who announced the sudden death of Quebec Premier Paul Sauvé. In 1964 he became host of the long running Quebec game show, "Tous pour un," a job he held until 1968. He is best remembered as the co-host of the popular talk show, "Appelez-moi Lise" with Lise Payette from 1972 until 1975. He passed away at the age of 76 after a battle with cancer. He was married to Quebec actress Gisèle Mauricet.
