Birth: Oct. 21, 1851
Franklin County
Massachusetts, USA
Death: Feb. 10, 1930
Massachusetts, USA

He was the son of Edwin and Elizabeth (Crowell) Warriner and the brother of Hezekiah Edward Warriner (1849-1869), William Henry Warriner (1855- ), and Henry Augustus Warriner (1866-1958).

Justin Bliss Warriner was a house carpenter who lived on Prospect Avenue in Northampton, Massachusetts. Died age 77 at his eldest son Edward's home in Claremont [Charlemont, Franklin Co.?], Massachusetts at 2:20 a.m., 10 February 1930, of pneumonia.

Married first Alice G. LEONARD on 29 September 1878 and they had two children born in Hawley, Massachusetts: Edward L. Warriner and Jessie Elizabeth Warriner (Mrs. Herbert Sanderson).

Married second circa 1905 Evelyn C. STONE. They lived together for 24 years and had 7 children.

His obituary (Springfield [MA] Republican, February 11, 1930):

Justin B. Warriner Dies
Justin Bliss Warriner, 77, of this city [Northampton] died this morning at the home of his son, Edward L. Warriner, at Charlemont. He leaves his widow, Evelyn (Stone) Warriner; three sons, Ralph of Pontiac, Mich., Justin of New York and Richard of this city; four daughters, Mrs. Herbert Sanderson of Pontiac, Mich., and Alice, Evelyn and Anna of this city, two brothers, William of Conway and Henry of Shelburne, and five grandchildren. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 at the Florence Methodist church and burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery.

Note: Justin B. Warriner had nine children, and left eight children at his death, five sons (Edward L., Justin B., Jr., Ralph W., Edwin R., and Richard L.) and three daughters (Jessie [Mrs. Herbert Sanderson], E. Alice, and Anna Jeanne) not three sons and four daughters as indicated in the obituary. The daughter who went by her middle name of Alice, was born as Evelyne Alice Warriner. This may have been confusing to the writer of the obituary and may account for the listing of a daughter, Evelyn, in addition to Alice.

The Warriners were also guardians over four young children of Henry A. Warriner who was a widowed (1919) brother to Justin. One of these children was Evelyn Warriner, and when the obituary was prepared, she may have been confused as a child of Justin.
