Mrs. Lillian M. (Dwyer) Hamm, 47, 278 Newbury Street, Peabody, wife of Ralph P. Hamm, who had lived in Andover for 35 years prior to moving to Peabody 10 years ago, died on a Wednesday at Hunt Memorial Hospital, Danvers, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Hamm was born in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of Charles W. and Alma (Gaudet) Dwyer.
She was employed as a telephone operator at Sears in the North Shore Shopping Center for the past seven years and formerly had been employed as a telephone operator at the Essex County Sanatorium in Middleton for 15 years.
Besides her husband and her parents, who reside in Andover, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Theresa DeMarco of Lawrence; five brothers, John, George and Joseph Dwyer, all of California, Edward Dwyer of Andover, and Charles W. Dwyer Jr. of Salem, NH.; also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held the following Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Clarence R. Lyons and Sons Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Danvers, with a high Mass of requiem at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine's Church, Andover. Burial will be at St. Augustine's Cemetery, that town.
