Mrs. Blanche D. Burford, 73, of Mars, retired Butler County teacher, died yesterday morning in the North Hills Passavant Hospital. Mrs. Burford had taught 22 years in the Adams Township School District of Butler County. She was a member and ruling elder of Christ United Presbyterian Church, Mars.
Born Nov. 17, 1892 in Clarion County, she was the daughter of William O. and Nancy Hook Dixon. She was the widow of Charles A. Burford.
Surviving are three sons, Maxwell H. Burford of Valencia, and Jay D. and Maurice S. of Mars; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Betty) Gyger of Butler RD 6 and Marjorie S. Burford of Mars; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Harry Burford of Freeport, Mrs. Thomas Mooney of New Bethlehem and Mrs. Phame Hamm of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and a brother, Norris Weaver of Wattsburg, Pa.

BURFORD - Friends of Mrs. Blanche D. Burford of Mars, who died Sunday, May 1, 1966, will be received at the Adrian D. Walters Funeral Home, Mars, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home with the Rev. E. B. Lawrence, former pastor of the Christ United Presbyterian Church, Mars officiating. Burial will be in Rimersburg cemetery. Arrangements by Walters.
