SABETHA--Services for Albert C. Holthaus, 65, Sabetha, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
He died Tuesday when his tractor overturned in a ravine while he was fighting a fire on his farm 2 1/2 miles east of Bancroft.
He was born Oct. 27, 1904, on a farm south of Seneca. He lived in Nemaha County all his life.
Besides farming, he was sheriff of Nemaha County for three years and undersheriff for two years. For the past five years, he was a police officer at Sabetha.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sabetha.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene Holthaus at home, three sons: Albert Holthaus, Overland Park; Donald Holthaus, Mayetta and Gerald Holthaus,Topeka; two daughters, Jo Ann Huerter, Seneca, and Mary Patricia Cunningham, Kansas City; five brothers, Joseph Holthaus, Oelwein, Iowa, Paul Holthaus, Centralia, Barney Holthaus, Seneca; Henry Holthaus, Seneca; Francis Holthaus, Seneca; three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Haverkamp, Kelly, Mrs. George Roth, Sabetha, and Mrs. Leonard Becker, Kansas City; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Burial was in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
