Harriet was a daughter of William S. Moore and his first wife, Eliza Jane Fleming. She married Elias Shrum a son of William Shrum and his wife, Susan Morehouse. They had at least one son, William Jasper Shrum. After Elias' passing in April of 1869 Harriet remarried. She married Isaac Morrell on January 2, 1875 in Iroquois County, Illinois. They had a daughter, Hattie Josephine.
