His parents were Jonathon Curtis and Sibbel Haven of Charleton, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.
They were married 19 Oct 1780...see Massachusetts, Town and. vial Records 1620-1988.

Also according to the "History of Noble County, Ohio" Eli Curtis was the first of the Yankee settlers and one of the first to occupy a hill farm.

Eli Curtis built the first Brick House in the Township in 1828.
