John W. Byrn.

John W. Byrn, 80, former publisher of newspapers at Perry and Winchester, died Sunday at his home in Winchester. he was born in Texas and moved to perry in 1898 where he became publisher of the Perry Mirror. He disposed of the paper in 1917 and moved to Winchester where he began publishing the Winchester Star. He retired three years ago because of failing health.
He was a member of the Winchester Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Winchester Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irnie D. Byrn, of the home; three sisters, Mrs. May Henderosn, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Ada Worswick, San Francisco, Calif.; and Mrs. Sallie Whistler, Fresno, Calif.; and three brothers, R. P., William and Grover Byrn, all of Fresno.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Winchester Methodist Church with burial in the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery.
