William E. Buhring Jr., 53, of 13635 County Road 37 died Sunday in Sterling.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday from the Calvary Baptist Church, the Rev. LeeRoy Pickering officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Buhring was born Nov. 18, 1929 in Arriba, the son of William E. Buhring Sr and Myrtle Agnes . He received his early schooling in Arriba then worked on a farm prior to entering the U.S. Navy in 1952, served during the Korean Conflict and after his discharge from military service in 1956 returned to Arriba.
He went to work for the Colorado State Highway Department at Pumpkin City and married Juanita L. Flock, June 27, 1958 in Arriba. The couple moved to South Dakota in 1959 where Mr. Buhning worked on a ranch for 3½ years before returning to Arriba in 1963 and employment with the highway department, working out of Limon and Strasburg before moving to Sterling in 1967.
Mr. Buhning was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Juanita Buhring; a son, Stanley Buhring; a daughter, Miss Lisa Buhring, all of Sterling; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Mismash of Denver, Mrs. Minnie Wills of Arriba, Mrs. Doris Speaker of Weldona, Mrs. Lois DeToy of O'Fallon, Ill., and Mrs. Charlotte Wilson of Merino; three brothers, Herman Buhring of Security, Albert Buhring of Colorado Springs and Ronald Buhring of Fort Morgan.
