She was born February 23, 1906, on a farm northwest of St. Benedict, the daughter of August and Mary Ann Olberding Enneking. She grew up there and attended Davey School. She graduated from Mt. St. Scholastica Academy, Atchison, in 1925.
She married Aloysius H. "Aloy" Haverkamp on August 17, 1927, at St. Mary's Church, St. Benedict. They lived and farmed north of Seneca. She was an industrious person and helped her husband on the farm. He died January 21, 1965.
After her husband's death, she remained on the farm and also worked at the Prairie Lounge in Seneca for several years where she was well known for frying the best onion rings.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Seneca and St. Ann's Altar Society of which she was a former president. She was a former member of St. Mary's Church at St. Benedict, where she had played the organ. She was a member and served as president of the Loyal Christian Benevolent Association in Seneca from 1949 until 1992. She was a national trustee for the LCBA headquarters in Erie, PA, where she served as president of the Kansas Fraternal Congress governing the LCBA insurance program. She was a member of the GFWC Seneca Woman's Club where she won prizes in oil painting exhibitions, the Seneca Garden Club, a 4-H leader for many years of the HHHH and the Lakeshore Clubs, and a volunteer at the Red Cross Bloodmobile at Seneca.
Survivors are sons, Aloysius Haverkamp, Jr., Baileyville, KS; Norbert Haverkamp, Horton, KS; Remi Haverkamp, Centralia, KS; Linus Haverkamp, Wetmore, KS; daughters, Grace Junk, De Mar, CA; Mary Ann Haug, Steinauer, NE; sister, Elizabeth Bergman, Seneca; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Seneca, KS. Burial was in the church cemetery.
