Mary Jane Williams, the fourth child of Jacob and Pheobe Williams, was born July 10, 1857, on a farm on Caines Creek, Lawrence Co, KY. She died March 6, 1939, at White City, KS. She married Andrew J. Blythe May 28, 1872. He was born February 16, 1853 and died August 7, 1901. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and was a farmer. Mary Jane was a housewife and both were members of the Baptist Church. They had eleven children.

Obituary: Mary Jane Williams was born near Blaine in Lawrence Co, KY, July 10, 1857 and departed this life at White City, KS, March 6, 1939 at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 24 days. At the age of 20 years she was converted and united with the Baptist faith. To this faith she was faithful throughout life, serving her Lord in her own little way, which was being kind to her children and grandchildren and her neighbors. She was faithful in prayer and in studying God's word, and before the years began to creep up on her, she enjoyed being found in the house of her master for every service. After the years had crept up on her, she found deep pleasure in reading her Bible and whenever possible listening to sermons over the radio. She was patient and uncomplaining in her suffering and always told those about her that she was ready when her Master called. To this fact she left a testimony.

She came with her husband and family from Kentucky and settled in Morris County in November 1885. She was preceded in death by her husband August 9, 1901, by a daughter August 25, 1883 [Myrtelia Anna Blythe who died at 3 years old], a son August 24, 1906 [Guy Otto Blythe who died at age 12] and another daughter on August 21, 1918 [Eliza Blythe Burton at age 31]. She leaves to mourn her departure, three brothers: Jake and David Williams of Hannah, KY; Nels Williams of Carterville, MO; two sisters: Mrs. Rena Gallion
of Cherokee, KY and Mrs. Sarah Boggs of South Charleston, OH; and her children, Mrs. Belle Yakle of White City, KS (with whom she made her home); Mrs. George Briix of Delavan [KS], William Blythe of Quenemo [KS]; Mrs. Elizabeth Kern of Delavan [KS]; Mrs. Julius Oleson of Dunlap [KS]; Mrs. Dillie Ruff of Russell, KS; Mrs. Susie Butts of Quenemo [KS]; and Harold Blythe of Kearney, NE; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, besides numerous relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from the Baptist Church at Parkerville on Wednesday afternoon, March 8th with Rev. Nels Williams of Lenora, OK, a nephew of the Deceased, officiating. Burial was in the family lot beside her husband and son in the Parkerville Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers were six of the deceased's grandsons, Albert and Guy Kern, Lowell and Russell Oleson, William Butts and Robert Briix.
