G. A. Oller, 84, longtime resident of Wilbarger county, succumbed at his home in Vernon at 12:30 Saturday morning. His condition became grave suddenly Friday after an infection developed into blood poisoning. Funeral services are to be held at the First Baptist church in Vernon Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, under the direction of the Underwood Funeral Home. Dr. E. S. James, pastor of the church, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Mack Cemetery in accordance with a long-standing wish of Mr. Oller.
Born in Ohio in 1856, Mr. Oller came to Texas in 1877 with his family, and moved to Walbarger County in 1888. He settled in the Mack community, but after a few years moved to Clarendon for a time, later returning to Mack to make his home. He moved to Vernon about eight years ago.
Pall bearers will be Roscoe Rainwater, Kade West, Fay Eggleston, Ben Martin, J. V. Owen, and Z. P. Pilgreen. Honorary pall bearers will be J. O Rouse, John Myers, H. D. Hockersmith, C. D. Beard, E. A. Vernon, C. Y. Smith, Carl Huddleston, D. O. Fulton, and T. E. Davis.
Surviving him are Mrs. Oller, three children, Mrs. Eunice Crawford, of Clarendon; Floyd Oller, Clarendon, and Otis Oller of Phoenix, Arizona; a brother, Rev. J. W. Oller of the Mack community, and a sister Mrs. Levina Williams of Shamrock.
