Melvin W. Fenstermacher
Melvin W. Fenstermacher, 80, formerly of High Street, Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday morning at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, where he had been a resident for three years.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, Aug. 3, 1928 to the late Calvin and Emily Weaver Fenstermacher.
He served in the Army from 1948 until 1954.
He was a member of the Lutheran faith and was last employed by Schuylkill Haven borough as part of the electrical crew until retiring in 1990 with 25 years of service.
He was a member of Schuylkill Lodge F&AM, Orwigsburg, and a life-member of Rainbow Hose Company, Schuylkill Haven.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Geraldine Jimerson Fenstermacher, daughters Dorothy A Reedy, Schuylkill Haven, and Susan J Hummel, Schuylkill Haven; sons, Martin W. Fenstermacher, Schuylkill Haven, and Walter C. Fenstermacher, Orwigsburg; a sister, Dolores Stutz, Schuylkill Haven; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren
A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday from Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Daniel Bell officiating.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
The family requests memorial donations be made to American Lung Association of Pennsylvania, 3001 Old Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
