William Blythe, the third child of Mary Jane Williams and Andrew Blythe, was born January 30, 1877 and died October 15, 1952. He was an electrician, and on November 3, 1909, he married Daisy Stone who was born in 1894 [they were divorced]. They were members of the Baptist Church. They had three children: William Blythe, Howard Oscar Blythe, and Viola Blythe.
William Blythe, of White City, Kansas, passed away last Friday at St. John hospital in Salina, where he had been for several months. He had been in the hospital since August suffering from lung cancer. Three weeks ago a blood clot developed in the left foot, and gangrene set in, causing his death.
Mr. Blythe was born near Blaine, Ky., in 1877. He came as a small boy with his parents to Morris county and had lived in White City the past twenty years.
Surviving him are a daughter, Mrs Paul Shedd of Salina; a son, William Jr., of California; and eight grandchildren. Another son, Howard, lost his life in the Bataan death march at the beginning of World War II.
Sisters surviving are Mrs. George Briix of Burlington, Mrs. M.J. Kern of Delavan, Mrs. J.S. Oleson of Council Grove, Mrs. Jake Ruff, of Russell and Mrs. M.J. Butts of Quenemo; also a brother, Harold of Hastings, Neb. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at Parkerville, Sunday, with burial in the Parkerville Cemetery.

January 4, 1945; Bill Blythe reported Saturday the birth of an eight pound fourteen ounce boy to Mrs. Walter Elwell of Admire, [KS] December 23. Mrs. Elwell was at one time the wife of Mr Blythe's son Howard, who was killed in the early part of the war. Mr. Elwell is a pilot stationed in Ireland.
