Amanda Mary Fey (nee Harding), wife of the late George A. Fey, beloved mother of Floyd A. and Joseph W. Fey and of the late Mrs. Estella G. Smith and Mrs. Esther May Kendall, departed this life Sunday morning, Nov. 19, 1939, at her home, 330 N. Mayfield avenue, Chicago, Ill.
Amanda Mary Fey was born at Naperville, Ill., on June 25, 1861. She was the daughter of Joseph W. and Sophia R. Harding and was raised there until united in marriage with George A. fey on October 26, 1880, after which they took up farming north of Naperville. After several years they moved to Big Woods, and later in 1891 they moved to Chicago, Ill., where George A. Fey was engaged in the milk business for over 30 years. To this union were born four children, Estella G., Floyd A., Joseph W. and Esther May Fey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Fey, and daughters, Mrs. Estella G. Smith and Mrs. Esther May Kendall.
Surviving are two sons, Floyd A. Fey of Aurora, Ill, and Joseph W. Fey of Chicago, Ill. Also nine grandchildren survive. They are George F. Fey of Chicago, Ill.; Robert D., Esther M., Donald H., Walter F. and Richard A. Fey, all of Aurora, Ill.; William E. Kendall, Jr., Charles F. Kendall and Janey Ruth Kendall, all of Oak Park, Ill.; one great-grandson, Robert D. Fey, Jr., of Aurora, Ill., one brother, Walter D. Harding, of Ritchie, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Anderson of Aurora, Ill. and Mrs. Emma Rawson of Adams, Okla.
She was faithful to all in a beautiful Christian spirit and action, a loving and generous mother and friend mourned by all those left behind.
Brief funeral services were held at the home in Chicago and thence to the A. R. Beidelman chapel at Naperville where services were held in charge of Rev. Rhode, pastor of the Austin Methodist church. Musis was provided by Hazel Duel, Effie Stark and Lottie Colby. Burial was in Naperville cemetery.
