Alfredo, a native of Santa Fe, passed away in the family home. He had moved with his family to Santa Cruz when he was very young. He was widowed from his first wife Agu7eda. They had a son named Bonifacio and a daughter named Lugarda who married Adrian N. Borrego. Alfredo's second wife was Antonia Fresquez. Their children were Eliza, Josefita "Josephine", and Pete.

Alfredo was a longtime political leader and Rio Arriba Businessman. He attended St. Michael's School in Santa Fe. He owned and operated a general store for many years. He was a postmaster and served as Santa Fe County Clerk and Commissioner. He was also employed in the New Mexico Bureau of Revenue. He was a member of Santa Cruz Parish, the Holy Name Society, and Hermanos de Nuestro Padre Jesus.
