Alfredo was a longtime political leader and Rio Arriba Businessman. He attended St. Michael's School in Santa Fe. He owned and operated a general store for many years. He was a postmaster and served as Santa Fe County Clerk and Commissioner. He was also employed in the New Mexico Bureau of Revenue. He was a member of Santa Cruz Parish, the Holy Name Society, and Hermanos de Nuestro Padre Jesus.
