Professional Boxer. He was the two-time WBC Light Middleweight Champion from July 2007 until June 2008 and from September 2008 until his death. He was also the former WBC Welterweight Champion from 2002 to 2003. He attended Northern Michigan University where he studied business administration and was later a member of the USA Boxing Team during the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona. He may be best remembered for a pair of bouts with "Sugar" Shane Mosley during 2002, when he captured the WBC Welterweight crown and successfully defended it. He was named Ring Magazine's "Fighter of the Year" for 2002. In 2003, he would relinquish the title to Ricardo Mayorga. In 2007, he won the WBC Light Middleweight belt with a decision victory over Carlos Manuel Baldomir. In June 2008, he gave up the title to Sergio Mora in a close decision loss and would reclaim it three months later in a rematch. During his professional career, he complied a record of 41 wins (29 knockouts) and 3 losses. Outside the ring, Forrest devoted his time to charitable causes. (bio by: C.S.)
