KITTS, REVEREND JOHN WALKER - a good and faithful servant to the Lord, was welcomed to his mansion in Heaven on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. Walker would have celebrated his 99th birthday on April 27 of this year and he credited his extended years to his life-long walk with Christ. Walker was a Scottish Rite Mason for seventy years. He served as pastor to several local churches throughout his life and served as Sunday School Teacher at Milan Baptist Church until this past year. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. A.L. and Lucy Kitts, wife, Vontella Kitts, infant son, John Walker Kitts, son Glenn Kitts, four brothers, four sisters and great great grandson, Devon Oakley. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Dorothy Rose; dear friend and companion, Minnie Henson; two sisters, Dorothy Keck and Estelle Smith; four grandsons, Steve (Terri) Rose, Stacy (Sandra) Kitts, Wally (Leigh Ann) Kitts and Travis (Deidra) Kitts; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of beloved neighbors and friends. Funeral service, 8:00 p.m., Friday, Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain City, Rev. Elbert Kitts, officiating. Family and friends will meet, 10:15, Saturday, Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Fountain City and proceed to Skaggs Cemetery for interment service at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers: Steve Rose, Stacy Kitts, Wally Kitts, Travis Kitts, Stephen Rose II, Wesley Kitts and Casey Kitts. Honorary pallbearers: Peyton Booker, Gage Kitts, Easton Kitts, Stephanie Burns, Alexus Oakley, Mikey Oakley and the Milan Baptist Church Men's Bible Class.
