Daniel Reish died in Sparrow Hospital, Monday, August 17, 1992. A rosary will be prayed at the Nelson-House Funeral Homes, LaRowe Chapel, Perry, Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Morrice on Thursday at 11 a.m. with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home is from 7 to 9 p.m.
Daniel Reish was born in Flint, April 25, 1918. He graduated in 1936 from Flint Northern High School. On December 31, 1938 he Married Rose Julia Montin of Flint.
After serving in the U S Army during World War II., Dan, Rose and their three daughters moved to Morrice, Michigan.
During the 28 years Dan lived in Morrice, he served the community on the Morrice Village Council, the Village President and Chief of the volunteer fire department. He was also the Chief of Police for Morrice and a member of the V.F.W., Perry Post and St. Mary's Church in Morrice.
Dan retired from A. C. Spark Plug, Division of General Motors in Flint, Michigan after 37 1/2 years. Since retiring, Dan and Rose spent the summers with their daughter Diana and son-inlaw, Jim Dempsey in Perry. They wintered in Mission, Texas for the past 16 years.
Survivors include his wife, Rose, three daughters, Rose Ann ( Fred )Mortimore, Nora Grinnell, both of Morrice, and Diana ( Jim ) Dempsey of Perry, two sisters, Helen Wellman and Nora Lewis, both of Flint; a brother, Clair F. Reish of Arizona; ten grand children; 14 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Gwen Washburn of Port Sanilac, Mich. He leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
