Mrs. Joseph Hatke died at the home of her son, Jospeh last Friday after an illness of several weeks duration of lung fever. She was about 80 years of age at the time of her death and had a large circle of friends. She was a good Christian lady and will be greatly missed in the community.
The deceased was born in Germany and after the death of her parents she came to this country with her brother, going to Cincinnati to live. Her maiden name was Terhaar. At Cincinnati she was married to Henry Wesling and to the union two children were born, Mrs. George Busse and Mrs. Clem Wendt. After the death of her first husband she was united in marriage to Mr. Hatke and to this union one son was born, Joseph. Besides she was the step-mother to six children of Mr. Hatke's. After her marriage to Mr. Hatke she moved with him to this place, settling north of town. Her husband died about three years ago. She has made her home for years with her son on the old home place.
The funeral took place Monday morning from the Catholic church, interment being in the Catholic cemetery.
