Clem Wente, one of the most highly respected citizens of Lillyville, died at his home Wednesday morning at 3 o'clock, aged 59 years, after an illness of several years. The deceased was born in St. Clair County, Ill., and came with his parents to this county when quite young. He was married to Kate Hatke 36 years ago and went to farming at Lillyville. Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, Henry of Sigel and John who lives near the home place, and four daughters, Mrs. Anna Vollmer of Mattoon, Mrs. John Althoff of Effingham, Mrs. George Weis of Teutopolis and Miss Cecilia at home.
