SON ARRIVES BEFORE DEATH OF HIS FATHER
Isaiah Bowers, sixty-three years old, died Sunday morning at 11:35 o'clock at his home, 538 Jackson street. He had been bedfast one week, following an illness since last summer when he suffered a stroke of paralysis.
The arrival of Sherman Bowers before his father's death fulfilled the dying request of the father.
Mr. Bowers was born on February 15, 1853, in Allen County, Ohio. to David and Mary Bowers. Since 1861 he had lived in Huntington, marrying Elizabeth Barton in 1877. One of the children, George Bowers, is dead.
Those surviving their father are Sherman and Virgil Bowers of Huntington. A foster son, Ernest Elliott, is living. Four brothers, Amos, George, Jacob and Orlando Bowers live in this city. A sister and Mr. Bowers parents are dead.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, leaving the home at 1:30 o'clock for the Evangelical church, where the Rev. Ralph Loose will be assisted by the Rev. E. W. Cole in conducting the services. Burial will be in the cemetery at Zion church.
