Sarah D. Lee

Mrs. Sarah D. Lee was born in Ripley, Jackson County, West Virginia October 11, 1835 and departed this life March 22, 1912 at the age of 72 years, 5 months, 11 days, at her home ten miles north of Cimarron, Kansas of indigestion.

She was married to Mr. Alexander Ankrum before the war and he died while enlisted. There were three children born to this union, which are: Mrs. Hattie Kraft, of Cimarron, Kansas, Mrs. Maggie Amos, of National City, California, and Mrs. Rena Rine, deceased of La Junta, Colorado.

In 1866 she was married to Mr. H. P. Lee of Chillicothe, Ohio, and to this union was born five children, who are: Mr. Jesse D. Lee, of Cimarron, Kansas, Mrs. Emma V. Clark, of Trinidad, Colorado, Mrs. Nora B. Grieve, of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Mr. Walter Lee, deceased, Mrs. Burton E. Lee of Cimarron, Kansas.

In 1883 they moved from West Virginia to Cherryvale, Kansas and lived there two years and in 1885 moved to Cimarron, Kansas, where they have since resided.
