Rites Are Held For Mrs. Backus

Winnemucca, Nev., Nov. 3 - Mrs. Rhoda E. Backus who died Saturday night in a Reno hospital, was buried here this afternoon, with the Rev. Aubrey H. Clark of the Methodist Church directing the rites. Burial from the Edna T. Eddy & Son Undertaking Parlors.

Mrs. Backus, a resident of nevada for the past thirty years, was widely known here. She was fifty-seven years old, a native of Utah. Surviving are her husband, F.E. Backus, and seven children, Lynn Backus of Sparks, Mrs. Helen King, Mrs. Mary Glenn and Mrs. Mildred Jones, Pauline, Leland, and H.E. "Gene" Backus, all of Winnemucca.

Stricken here last week, Mrs. Backus was taken to Reno where it was learned she was suffering from pneumonia with other complication. Blood tansfusions were unavailing in an effort to save her life.

Pallbearers at the funeral were H. Erskine, J.G. Moore, J.W. McAllister, C.P. Hoskins, J.D. Minor and Charles Osborn. Burial was in the Winnemucca Cemetery.
