Jessie May "Granny" Lemons, 94, of 28101 Fieldhouse Ave., died a 2:25 a.m. today (July 20, 1987) in her home after an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 18, 1892, in Manchester, Tenn. As Jessie Jones, she married James F. Lemons on Nov. 26, 1917. He died May 2, 1967, in Elkhart. Surviving are two sons, Willie, Manchester, Tenn. and Dewey, Elkhart; five daughters, Goldie Lancaster, Ellen Spry, and Jessie Swann, all of Elkhart, Elsie Allen, South Bend, and Alice Shannon, Manchester, Tenn. 19 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bessie Whitman, Elkhart, and Dessie Waldon, and Pearl Waldon, both of Manchester, Tenn.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m. The Rev. Floyd Zurcher of the Bresee Nazarene Church will officiate. Visitation will alson be Wednesday and Thursday afternoon at the Manchester Funeral Home, where services will be at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at the Summitville Cemetery, Summitville, Tenn.

Mrs. Lemons was a member of the Bushy Branch Pentecostal Church.

Memorials may be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County or the Heart Fund.
