William Darden Chance was the son of James F. Chance & Mary V. Wilcox Chance
and the husband of Addie Roberson Chance.
Mr. W. D. Chance died at his home at Alexander Saturday, the 5th after an illness of only a few weeks that baffled the skill of his physicians. he was 59 years of age, and was a citizen of Burke county all of his life.
He was a successful farmer and business man, esteemed by a wide circle of friends for his honesty and trustworthyness. Progressive in his ideas, a hard worker, faithful to every trust, he was a citizen to be proud of and his death is truly regretted.
The interment was in old Habersham cemetery last Sunday, the services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Burnett, and attended by a large number of friends. Mr. Chance was survived by five children; Mrs. Mamie Humphrey, Miss Eunice Chance, Messrs. Oliver, Guy and Thompson Chance. His mother, two brothers, Mr. Warren Chance, Bulloch county and Mr. Paul Chance, of Augusta; three sisters; Mrs. Will Daniel of Munnerlyn, Mrs. Minnie Lee Johnston, of Bulloch county, and Mrs. Nan Oliver, of Macon.
