Ethel C. Bennett, 86, of Antler Arms, Gladwin, died Thursday, Aug. 23, in the Gladwin Area Hospital following a short illness. She was born May 16, 1898, and had spent her lifetime in Gladwin County. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. The former Ethel Shaw, she was married to James E. Bennett October 23, 1916, in Gladwin. He preceded her in death June 4, 1979.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Eva Bosco and Mrs Rose Wyrick of Gladwin and Mrs. Dorothy Eyre of Jackson; 4 sons, Harvey of Burton, Delmer of Midland, Charles of Niles, Ill. and James Jr. of Linden; one sister, Edith Pero of Gladwin; 5 brothers, John, William and Roy of Gladwin, Clayton of Wooden Shoe and Clarence of Saginaw; 37 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Hal Weemhoff officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 08-29/1984 Column - 3 Page - 2
