"Edwards County Youth Killed in Army Plane Crash In Idaho --- Sgt Wayne K Elmore, 19, Second Casualty from Lewis District ------ Sgt Wayne K Elmore, 19, son of Mr and Mrs E L Elmore of the Fellsburg community, met instant death Monday when an Army four-engined bomber crashed a short distance south-west of Cowen Field, Ida. A wire to the family, Tuesday morning, from the commanding officer, notified them their son was a member of the crew of ten which were killed.
The youth, who enlisted in the Army from this county October 29, 1942, at Fort Riley, Kansas, was a graduate of Kinsley high school. He had been stationed previously in Utah and only recently had been transferred with his company to Idaho.
With Sgt. Elmore's tragic death, the total of casualities from this commounity numbers two: the first being Roland Jones, who was killed at Bataan, Donald Barnes, Kinsley who is in the Navy has been reported missing in action for several months.
Sgt. Elmore's body, which was beyond recognition, has been cremated and is being shipped from Idaho. It will probably be accompanied by military escort and will be sent to the McKillip Funeral Home. Announcement of the service and burial will be made later.
A brother, Otto Elmore, was sent to Ft Leavenworth about two or three weeks ago for his physical examination for military induction."

The school annual was not published during WW II.
1949 Trousdale Tigers yearbook: "We the members of the class of 1949 do respectfully dedicate this years "Tiger Tales" to the memory of those from our community who made the supreme sacrifice during World War II. We hope that their valient service may be an inspiration to each of us to live noble lives in the country for which they gave their all."
