DEATHS - JOHN M. FOSTER
John McCullough Foster, 73, of 310 W. 49th, who retired in 1967 as executive vice-president of the former Foster Lumber Company, died Monday at a nursing home at 6515 W. 103rd, Overland Park. He was a life-long resident here.
The Foster company was a lumber retailing firm in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming and Texas. He was also a member of the board of the former Pickering Lumber Company here.
He was graduated from the University of Illinois - Urbana with a degree in business administration in 1925.
He was a deacon of the Central Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Gamma Delta Fraternity. He was a Shriner and a member of the Jesters and the Carriage Club.
He was a former member of the Kansas City Club. He was a former member of the board of trustees of the School of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Margaret Armstrong Foster of the home; a son, John M. Foster, Jr., Northford, Conn.; a daughter, Mrs. William E. Ruth, 828 W. 56th; and nine grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stine & McClure Chapel; burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers: Dr. Richard Dreher, Moulton Green, Jr., George Hawley, Loyd Owen, Jack Rees and Harold Warwick. The family suggests contributions to the church or any charity.
