HUDSON - Helen Naomi Bauer, 85, died Oct. 12, 1998, at her home in Hudson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hudson. Pastor George Reddington will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Minnis Chapel of St. John.
A memorial has been established with the church.
Born Sept. 5, 1913, at Stafford, she was a daughter of E.O. and Nettie Pearl (DeSelms) Anderson. The family resided near Zenith and then at Hudson where she graduated from Hudson High School. She attended Emporia State Teachers College and taught school at Hudson.
On May 31, 1936, she married Chester E. Bauer in Hudson.
Bauer was a piano teacher for 55 years before retiring in 1988. In 1983 she received the outstanding teacher award from the Kansas Music Teachers Association.
Bauer was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ; a founding member of the Neighborhood Bible Study and Prayer Group; and a charter member of the Hudson IQ Study Club.
Survivors include her husband, Chet Bauer; a son, Thomas A. Bauer, Hutchinson; a daughter, Mary Lou Martin, Wichita, formerly of Winfield; a sister, Ernestine White, Denton, Texas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
