Mrs. Mary Esther Wright, 74, of 421 Laurel Ave., died Friday afternoon in Waynesboro Community Hospital.
She was born in Kenmare, N. D., April 21, 1911, a daughter of Isaac Emmett and Emma Elizabeth Wenger Grove.
Mrs. Wright was a retired nurse and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Mrs. Maggie Lee Conner of Waynesboro and Mrs. Mildred W. Homan of Newville, Pa.; two step-sons, Ernest A. Wright Jr. of Highland Springs and Meredith Lee Wright of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Mrs. Nannie Schumann of South English, Iowa, Mrs. Katie Weaver of Waynesboro, Mrs. Lois Blosser of Staunton, Mrs. Bertha Trousdell of Hampton and Miss Eunice Grove of Lyndhurst; four brothers, Timothy Grove and Enos Grove, both of Lyndhurst, and Irvin E. Grove and David E. Grove, both of Stuarts Draft; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Her first husband, Wallace Lee Kennedy, preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1944; and her second husband, Ernest A. Wright, on Feb. 17, 1964.
A service was to be conducted today in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home by Dr. J. Whitner Kennedy and the Rev. Richard A. Koster, with burial in Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions to the building fund of First Presbyterian Church.
