************************************************************

Born on her father's plantation "Vermont". Died at home on her & her husband's plantation "Speedwell".

Daughter of the Honorable Nathaniel Thacker Burwell & Martha Burwell "Patsey" Armistead.

After her father died her uncle purchased a farm for them in Botetourt County, called "Rustic Lodge."

Her and Colonel Harvey were married at the home. Colonel Harvey's father was a social visitor of Fannie's mother, who was known throughout the State of Virginia.

Her 1st cousin, Letitia M. Burwell, wrote the book, "A Girl's Life In Virginia Before The War," an account of Southern Virginia plantation life. It is available for free download at Google Books.

There is a needlework hanging in the Botetourt Museum that was executed by Frances Thacker Burwell Harvey.

It is stated in the family bible: "Francis T. Harvey, wife of the deceased Lewis Harvey, died on the 31st of March, aged eighty-three years and ten months." But this does not correspond to her tombstone. Her son Col. Robert Harvey died on May 31, 1883. Nov. 24, 1864 is confirmed by her death record.
