McLEAN - Amos Ed Turner Jr., 85, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, in Pampa.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Alanreed Cemetery with the Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor of First United Methodist Church in McLean, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of McLean.
Mr. Turner was born Jan. 16, 1924, in McLean to Amos Ed Turner Sr. and Mary Katherine Sharp Turner. He had lived in the McLean and Alanreed area most of his life. He married Eula Jo Harvey in McLean. She preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 2002. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been a cowboy most of his life. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Kennedy of Bangor, Pa.; three stepchildren, Judy Strange, Sharon Whited and Fred Smith; a sister, Auna Barnes of Fritch; three brothers, Ivan Turner, Joe Turner and Vernon Turner, all of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Tanner Kennedy and T.J. Kennedy; numerous step grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
