Mrs. Stanford was born Geneva Loretta Parks to Jay and Cornelia on June 21, 1897 in Becker county. She attended school in Osage township, high school in Park Rapids and Bemidji normal school.
She was married in 1922 at Detroit Lakes to George Sanderson. She lived in Osage township until 1936, Everett, Wash., for five years and settled in Seattle, Wash until 1962 when she returned to Osage. Mrs. Stanford taught school in Hubbard and Becker counties for 19 years, did secretarial work in Everett, Wash., and was an x-ray technician in Seattle. Her hobbies were buying and selling real estate.
Survivors are a daughter, Joyce Sanderson of Long Beach, Calif., three sisters, Myrtle Burdick of Pontiac, Mich., Bina Brill of Park Rapids, and Amy Phelps of Seattle, Wash, a brother Clarence of Park Rapids, and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Osage, Sunday, Oct. 28, Rev. Martin Shaw officiating. Les Enfield, organist, accompanied Mrs. Ronald Henderson, who sang "Beyond The Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Interment was in Osage Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wallace Johnson, Clyde Johnson, Ivan Parks, Harold Parks, Russell Parks, and Earl Smith. Frazey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Attending fro a distance were Joyce Sanderson of Long Beach, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Parks and Mrs. Ivan Parks of Pengilly, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Parks and family of Paynesville; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Grubstead and Mary Lee Enfield of Minneapolis; Mrs. Myrtle Burdick of Pontiac, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. George McLaughlin and daughter of Fargo.
