MARY ANN (MAHANY) LADNER
The death of Mrs. Mary Ann Ladner, wife of James C. Ladner, of Easton, occurred at the Northern Maine Sanatorium, Presque Isle, Thursday morning, Aug. 2, at 5 o'clock, after being in ill health fo over three years, the last few months suffering severely. On Monday, Mrs. Ladner suffered a severe shock remaining in a serious condition until Wednesday afternoon, when convulsions set in and at 5 o'clock Thursday morning the end came. The deceased was born in Easton, July 1881, making her just 42 years and 27 days to the date of her death. She was the daughter of John E. and the late Lucy Mahaney. Some 17 or 18 years ago the deceased was married to James C. Ladner of Easton, who survives, the wedding taking place at Clearview N. B., of this union two children survive namely Basil Ladner and Fayette Ladner both living at home. Besides the husband and two children she leaves to mourn their loss four sisters and three brothers as follows: Josephine,now Mrs. Warren Sawyer of Fort Fairfield; Veronica, Mrs. Loyd Gray of Exeter; Mildred, Mrs. Patrick McDonald, Fort Fairfield; Cahryn, now Mrs. Russell Bodge of Fort Fairfield; Thomas Mahaney of New York and John and Theodore Mahaney of Easton, Me. Funeral services were held from the St. Dennis' Catholic church, Fort Fairfield, Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, Rev. Fr. J.J. Finn officiating. The pall bearers were Russell Bodge, Theodore Mahaney, John Mahaney and Ted Rediker. A trio, consisting of Mrs. Clyde Knights, Mrs. Fred Allen and Geo. Findler sang a beautiful and appropriate selection and a solo was rendered by Mrs. Fred Allen. The flowers were profuse and beautiful, among thema beautiful wreath from the husband and children, and a pillow from the brothers, sisters and father. Interment was made at Riverside cemetery. Mrs. Ladner was one of the finest of women affectionate, unselfish and always pleasant and kindly though a great sufferer. She will be greatly missed by her family and the entire community extends deepest sympathy to those who are bereft of a wife and mother by this untimely death.
