Funeral services were held Saturday, August 7th in Lovell for Lillian Brinkerhoff Hinkel, 88, who died Wednesday, August 4th. Mrs. Hinkel was born September 15, 1904 in Lovell, Wyoming to Josephine Clark and Warren Brinkerhoff. She attended Lovell schools and worked for the telephone company. On November 10, 1922 she married Harold Hinkel in Basin, Wyoming. The marriage was solemized in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were the parents of six children, three of which preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hinkel was an avid gardener, enjoyed canning, and growing flowers. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and taught primary for 27 years. She and her husband operated the Shoshone Grocery Store for 13 years. Her husband died in March of 1976.
Survivors are her daughters, Helen Watson of Aumsville, Oregon, Phyllis Borders of Powell, Wyoming; son, Robert H. Hinkel of Idaho Falls, Idaho; brothers, LaVell, Gerald, and Floyd Brinkerhoff of Lovell, Joe Waters of Soda Springs, Idaho, Kendall and Gary Brinkerhoff of Utah, and Arnold Brinkerhoff of Powell, Wyoming; sisters, Myrtle Mecham and Glenda Asay of Lovell, Arlene Collins of Montana, and Karen Simonsen of Utah; 18 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.
