Obituary:
David C. Corey, a former resident of Elmira and an employee of the New York State Reformatory, died Friday at 10 o'clock at New Haven, Conn. The decedent was forty years old and was a son of David Cory of Coryland, Pa. The decedent was a traveling salesman and had resided in New Haven about ten years. He is survived by his widow, two sisters, Mrs. S. S. Leonard of Mansfield, Pa. and Mrs. Alonzo P. Noble of Wells, Pa.; two brothers, Harry B. Corey of Troy, Pa., and Mark R. Corey of Elmira. The remains arrived in Elmira today and the funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Harrington undertaking rooms, the Rev. A. J. Saxe to officiate. Burial will be in the cemetery at Coryland, Pa.

David C. Corey, a brother of Attorney H. B. Corey of this boro, died on Friday in New Haven, Conn. He was about 40 years old and a native of Coryland, this county. He was a traveling salesman and had made his home in New Haven for about ten years. He leaves a widow, two sisters and one other brother –Mrs. S. S. Leonard of Mansfield; Mrs. A. P. Noble of Wells, and Mark R. Corey of Elmira. The funeral was held in Elmira and interment was in the Coryland cemetery (Troy Gazette Register, Troy, Pennsylvania, Friday, May 22, 1914).

David married 29 June 1911 (Rhode Island marriage record) Sadie O. Brennan born 4 Oct 1881 Providence, Rhode Island daughter of John E. Brennan and McBride. Sadie was previously the wife of Harold H. Sweet who died 5 Sept 1903 age 22 and the mother of Harold H. Sweet born 29 June 1902. Sadie died 9 Mar 1947 Los Angeles, California.
