Funeral services for M. M. Pennington, 41 years of age, of near Atlanta, who died at a local clinic Monday morning following an illness of several days, which developed into pneumonia, were held at Sardis Tuesday morning with interment in the Sardis Cemetery. The Rev. W. D. Sherwood officiated.
The deceased was a farmer. His wife was the former Miss Maude Durham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Durham.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Arlo, Opal, Jewel, and Hazel; three brothers, Will, Tom, and Clyde Pennington, and two sisters, Mamie and Lilla [sic Lillian].
