Duncan - Oct. 5 - Charles Allen, 4 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Allen, died at 10 o'clock this morning at a spartanburg Hospital following an illness of three days of diphtheria. Surviving are the parents; two sister, Miss Edith Allen of Green, and Miss Mary Allen of near Duncan; five brothers, William and Ralph Allen, both of Campobello; Hosea, Huey and Joe Allen, all of near Duncan. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. C. E. Puette officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tom Finch Brooks Dobbins, Ben Dobins and Dever Oliver. Pending the hour of the service, the body will be at the home in Duncan.
