There is a discrepancy in the names and dates of Otho and Alta's last set of twins, Alma and Elma. They appear as "Elmie" and "Almie" on the 1920 census for Harve Township, Faulkner County, Arkansas, age 9 months old on 27 Jan 1920, indicating a birth date of May 1919. A death is recorded in the cemetery's burial records for ALMA Goode who died on 30 July 1920. This is supported by a death certificate for ALMA Goode, age 14 months, daughter of Otho and Alta. The discrepancy comes from the grave marker in the cemetery. It shows ELMA Goode as being born 23 Mar 1920 and dying 4 July 1921. There is no record of a Goode child dying in 1921 and being buried in the cemetery. Also, the twin that did not die in 1920 lived until 1994 and went by the name ALMA (I was acquainted with her), indicating that it was ELMA instead of ALMA that died in 1920 (not 1921). Also, when ALMA died in 1994, her grave marker gave the birthdate as 22 May 1920 rather than 23 May 1920, both of which should have shown 1919 instead of 1920. Most likely the twin that died in 1920 was Elma and the wrong name was written down in the records. As for the incorrect dates on the older headstone I have no explanation other than it was probably erected at the time of their mother's death or later as the marker style for Elma matches that of her parents (her mother died in 1937 and the marker was erected some time after that). - CDP
