Reed Yeates Anderson was the son of Niels Wilhelm Anderson and Sarah Genevieve Jessop. His mother died when he was two years old; and he was raised by his grandmother, Mary N. Anderson. After graduating from South Cache High School, he completed an aircraft construction course at Utah State Agricultural College.
Reed married Grace Riggs Stoddard on June 20, 1941. Grace was born March 10, 1920, in Wellsville, Utah, the daughter of William Duncan Stoddard and Emma LaRue Riggs.
Reed was a veteran of World War II and was past commander of Ballard-Grant American Legion Post 101. He was a building and plastering contractor and businessman. He served on the Millville Town Council and was president of the Millville-Nibley Cemetery Board. He held numerous LDS Church positions and was serving as a name extraction missionary at the time of his death.
The family enjoyed all outdoor sports together. Grace always found time for service to church and community. She held positions in the Church auxiliaries in both stake and ward, and she was Relief Society President of Millville First Ward. She was active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and she worked in the American Legion Auxiliary. She served for eighteen months in the London (England) South Mission.
Reed and Grace were the parents of Karen LaRue (James Blotter), Genevive Marie (Max Douglas Burke) and Rose Mary (Robert Max Jones).
