Christina Anderson was born in Bellebarga, Sweden, October 12, 1872, the daughter of Swen and Sissa Nielson Anderson. She came with her family to Utah in 1877.

On August 21, 1889, Christina and John Solman Dowdle were married in Logan, Utah. John was born January 29, 1865 in Willard, Utah, the son of John Clark Dowdle and Orpha Warner.

They moved to Cardston, Alberta, Canada, in 1896 where they lived for many years. While there, Christina was appointed to sew burial clothes and care for the dead. She participated in many choirs and choruses and was active in the Relief Society.

After John's death, she returned to Cache Valley and married George Dunbar in July of 1843.

John and Christina were the parents of: Etta Dowdle Jenson, John Esley, Merriet Dewey, Merlin Leon and Verda Dowdle Ross.
